It is with great pleasure to announce that our associate D. Ranger Jackson, a top rated criminal defense attorney here at Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & McQuaid, P.A., has been elected President of the Pinellas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL) an affiliate for over 40 years of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) the only statewide organization specifically for criminal defense attorneys committed to provide due process and the protections entitled under the Florida and United States Constitutions to individuals accused of criminal acts.
Ranger is a highly skilled and accomplished attorney well practiced in criminal defense, civil & commercial litigation, and a member of the Florida, California and Colorado Bar Association. His successful career has earned him the respect of his peers and the qualifications to be elected to this position.
Born in Atlanta, Ranger’s journey began by graduating magna cum laude in 2010 with a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from Shorter University of Rome, GA., and from there, attending Stetson University College of Law graduating in 2013 with his Juris Doctor. Since then, Ranger has tried to verdict more than 40 cases during his tenure in Pinellas County. There, he was promoted to head of the Electronic Investigations Unit specializing in prosecuting crime using digital evidence from GPS and cellular location information.
He also developed and sharpened these technological skills while Deputy District Attorney for the community of Marin County CA, and as a prosecutor in Florida where he helped state and federal agencies, along with FaceBook and Google, to solve crimes and prosecute them. Ranger’s dedication and cyber security expertise has also earned him certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
In addition to his busy schedule, Ranger still finds time to serve the legal community by providing pro bono legal services for disaster and humanitarian relief to the residents of California and Florida as a volunteer for the ABA, as well as volunteering in his own community. We are honored to have such an outstanding attorney as an associate at our firm and to share his news of becoming the new president of the Pinellas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Congratulations Ranger!
