Concentrated marijuana, or THC oil, is still considered to be a felony possession of a controlled substance in Florida. At my law practice in St. Petersburg, I have witnessed an influx of THC oil cases over the last few years. Most of these cases involve young people who were unaware that marijuana oil is a serious crime. Likewise, most involve a single cartridge of THC oil and a vape pen. The fact that even a trace amount of THC oil left in the vape pen will result in a felony arrest demonstrates how far behind Florida’s marijuana laws are compared to the rest of the country.
Misdemeanor domestic battery charges the most common charges we see for first-time offenders. With the appropriate steps toward rectifying the situation, we are often successful in getting the charges dismissed. If you have been arrested for domestic battery or any other domestic related charge, you should speak to a domestic batter lawyer immediately. Domestic battery charges in Pinellas County are very common but often misunderstood. Domestic battery arrests happen to both men and women across all economic and social backgrounds. They usually involve people who have never had contact with law enforcement before and have no idea what to expect. In Pinellas County, all misdemeanor domestic battery charges are heard in Division R located in Courtroom 19 on the 3rd floor of the Pinellas County Justice Center. All domestic related felony charges are spread among the felony divisions located on the 4th floor of the Pinellas County Justice Center. Unlike other types of charges, there is common confusion about how the process works, the penalties and the consequences of the domestic battery.
Our firm has been successfully representing students at Stetson College of Law for decades. Since 1958, our firm’s founder, Anthony Battaglia, and our partners have handled scores of legal issues for Stetson students. Since I graduated from Stetson in 2000, I have carried on the tradition. I recall when I was a student at Stetson, the professors all talked about Battaglia, Ross as having the premier lawyers in town. I recall that at least two of my classmates actually hired one of my current partners for cases- one was for a car accident injury and one was for a DUI. When I was about to graduate, I applied to many firms in the Tampa Bay area and received a lot of offers. I chose Battaglia, Ross because I recognized that not only were the lawyers politically connected, they were experienced in the types of litigation that I was drawn to. Since August 2000, I have worked at the firm and been trained by well respected and fair lawyers. Almost immediately after accepting the job, I noticed that students at Stetson would contact our [...]
