Facts:
My clients are brothers who were out bar hopping in downtown St. Petersburg. They were both drinking. At some point, another group of guys started giving them a hard time, and a fight broke out. The St. Petersburg Police Department responded and charged the brothers with disorderly intoxication.
They hired me immediately, as they both had good jobs and were concerned about how this charge would affect their records.
The Case:
I had each of them tell me about their background and what had happened. I then sent a detailed letter to the prosecutor explaining why the charges should be dropped and how the case would impact them if it wasn’t.
The Result:
The prosecutor agreed with my letter. Both brothers had their charges dismissed. They did not have to go to court and can now move on with their lives. They are also both eligible to have the case expunged from their records.
