Ranger’s client and her husband were going through a particularly tough time in their marriage. During a heated argument, she slapped her husband. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, she called 911. Unfortunately, this led to her arrest on domestic battery charges, despite her husband’s wish to not press charges.
She admitted to slapping her husband, and while the case was ongoing, the court allowed them to maintain contact. She retained our services to ensure her side of the story was fully understood.
Understanding the complexities of their situation, Ranger made the prosecutor aware that his client and her husband were in marriage counseling, had no prior issues, and her husband did not wish to press charges. We presented a compelling case showing that this was an isolated incident rooted in a challenging period in their marriage.
After reviewing the case and discussing it with Ranger, the State Attorney’s office made the decision to dismiss the charges against Ranger’s client. This outcome allowed Ranger’s client to move forward with her life without the burden of a criminal record.
