Facts:
My clients, the petitioners, had been stalked for a period of 1-year from a male acquaintance. It started with text messages and calls. Then, once my clients blocked his number, he created new phone numbers to contact them. Finally, my clients changed their phone numbers and he sent his mother to their home address – which was never given to him. At that point, my clients filed a stalking injunction against him. However, the temporary was not granted, so they feared when they went to a hearing that their petition would be denied.
The Case:
My clients decided to hire me to represent them in the injunction hearing with the hope that I could convince the Judge an injunction was necessary.
The Result:
During the hearing, I presented every single contact the respondent had made to my clients. I was able to clearly demonstrate the fear he had instilled in my clients and meet the standard for a stalking injunction to be entered. When it came time for him to respond all he could say was that he was sorry. The Judge granted the injunction and my client’s were able to rest easy knowing they were protected.
