Facts:
My client was arrested and charged with criminal battery. The allegations were that she knocked on her neighbors’ door, while intoxicated, and attacked him leaving scratch marks on his body. The State Attorney’s Office offer was a guilty conviction on a Battery and 12 months probation to complete an alcohol evaluation and treatment as well as anger management classes. The client is a nurse, and a conviction of this type jeopardized her ability to work as a nurse in the future.
The Case:
The client hired me. After evaluating the evidence of the case, I was able to argue our client was the one attacked. After hearing our side of the story, the State Attorney’s Office dropped the case.
