My client was in the security screening line at Tampa International Airport prior to boarding his flight. He placed his backpack in the x-ray machine and as it was processed a loaded firearm was located inside. He had forgotten the firearm was in his backpack. Despite this, he was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Firearm which is a felony.
I was able to speak with the Assistant State Attorney before charges were formally filed. After presenting mitigating evidence regarding my client, I was able to get the charges dropped. The client avoided any court dates or paying any fines.
