Facts:
My client was out with friends in downtown St. Petersburg. After he left a bar on Central Ave., he got into an argument with a group of guys and a fight broke out. The police arrived and arrested him for misdemeanor disorderly conduct for brawling. He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
The Case:
No one was injured and he had never been in trouble before. I did not think that he needed to go anger management or alcohol counseling based on the minor incident. I wrote a letter to the prosecutor asking for the charge to be dropped.
The Result:
After about a month, the prosecutor agreed to drop the charge. My client never had to go to court and his record stayed clean. He is now eligible to expunge the record of his arrest. He was very happy and appreciative to be able to move on with his life.
